Inherited wealth….

He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. Matthew 25: 16

Certain rich man went along the meadows of his field. From there on he was proud that his ancestors left him so much wealth. His father had added much to the ancestors property.

But this rich man was eating, sleeping and misusing the property and wealth of his ancestors and parents.

As he was too proud of himself, he thought, “I am the king”.

Then appeared a Wisdom Carrier (WC) who would be his life changing experience.

The rich man was wondered by the sight of WC.

Seeing WC humbly dressed, he thought of providing some portion of the land to WC.

WC looked into the hands of rich man for a brief moment.

The rich man asked what happened, just take the land that I am giving to you.

WC: Do you realize that I am looking at your hands but what I find is that it is all empty. The soft hands and proud generosity tells me that you did not earn it.

Yes, I did not earn them, I simply inherited from my parents and ancestors.

WC: From where did you ancestors inherited the land?

Rich man : I do not know?

WC: It’s important that you give what you earn with your hands. The ancestors simply had to abandon this world. They would be ashamed of you misusing their hard earned wealth and property. They were forced to give it to you since they had not other choice.

Rich man was ashamed for his boasting of inherited wealth

He learnt a lesson: He had to earn his own wealth through hard work from inherited wealth.

‘The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’ Luke 9:16
